On April 10, 2025, the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 11-1 in a dominant effort.

Jo Adell’s incredible accomplishment of hitting two home runs in one inning—a feat only two other Angels players have ever achieved—was the game’s high point.  

Adell’s Record-Breaking Performance

Adell had a huge offensive outburst in the fifth inning, scoring eight runs. He hit a single home run off Rays starter Zack Littell to spark the rally, and he scored three runs off reliever Mason Englert to end it.

In addition to being his first two home runs of the season, this performance tied his career-high four RBI total.  

Supporting Cast Shines

After Adell, the Angels continued their aggressive assault. Mike Trout and Taylor Ward each hit two home runs, for a total of six RBIs.

Trout’s two home runs increased his season total to five, and Ward went three for five. Logan O’Hoppe also had three hits and scored twice, contributing to the team’s 14-hit record.  

Dominant Pitching Complements Offense

Jose Soriano pitched well, giving up just one run and five hits in seven and a third innings. His season record now stands at 2-1 as a result of his efforts.

Jonathan Aranda singled in the fourth inning to give the Rays their lone run as they struggled offensively.
