Steph and Ayesha Curry Collaborate with Michelle Obama to Promote Children’s Health

NBA star Stephen Curry and his wife, businesswoman and culinary expert Ayesha Curry, have joined forces with former First Lady Michelle Obama’s organization, PLEZi Nutrition, in a major effort to promote children’s health and nutrition.

The goal of this partnership is to encourage better eating habits and give kids access to healthier beverage options across the country.

The Genesis of PLEZi Nutrition

Michelle Obama co-founded PLEZi Nutrition, a Public Benefit Company whose mission is to enhance the nutritional value of foods and drinks sold to children in the US. The company’s goal is to address the alarming rates of added sugar consumption among children by developing products that are both wholesome and appealing to young consumers.

A substantial amount of the 53 pounds of added sugar that children consume each year comes from sugary drinks, according to PLEZi.

The Currys’ Involvement

Stephen and Ayesha Curry are longtime supporters of children’s health and wellbeing, having founded the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and having four children of their own. Their foundation works to guarantee that kids have access to wholesome food, high-quality education, and secure play areas. Their dedication to encouraging better living for coming generations is a perfect fit with our partnership with PLEZi Nutrition.

“Our kids were the ones that drove our decision to partner with PLEZi Nutrition,” the Currys stated. “PLEZi passed the taste test, and they couldn’t stop drinking it. This is important because it’s our job as parents (and as a culture) to show our kids that health and wellness can be exciting.”

Introducing PLEZi Hydration

A new brand of sports drinks called PLEZi Hydration was introduced as a result of the partnership, providing active people with a healthier option. Compared to popular brands, these beverages have lesser sodium, less sugar, and more potassium.

Each 16.9-ounce bottle, which comes in varieties like Tropical Punch, Orange Mango Twist, and Lemon Lime, has 12 grams of sugar, 120 mg of sodium, 500 mg of potassium, and 90 mg of vitamin C. PLEZi Hydration costs $2.29 a bottle and can be purchased nationwide on Amazon and in a number of grocery stores.

A Unified Vision for Healthier Generations

Michelle Obama expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We’re so excited to welcome Stephen and Ayesha Curry to the PLEZi Nutrition family. They are true role models… Their commitment to bettering the lives of children and their dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles align perfectly with our vision for PLEZi Nutrition.”

This partnership demonstrates a common dedication to tackling childhood nutrition and promoting healthy lifestyle choices for youth. The Currys and Michelle Obama hope to provide the groundwork for long-term health and wellness by using their platforms and influence to increase children’s access to and interest in healthy alternatives.
