Simon Nemec, a defenseman, scored the game-winning goal to help the New Jersey Devils defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 in double overtime in an exciting Game 3 of the Eastern Conference first-round series.

Nico Hischier’s goal late in the first period and Dawson Mercer’s goal early in the third gave the Devils an early lead.
