Ruben Amorim Responds to Marcus Rashford’s Future at Manchester United

Marcus Rashford, who has been a part of United since joining the academy at the age of seven, has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the team. However, his form has declined in the last 18 months, and he was left out of the squad alongside Alejandro Garnacho for Sunday’s 2-1 derby victory over Manchester City. Despite the forward’s recent interview suggesting he may be ready for “a new challenge,” Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has stated his desire for Rashford to stay at Old Trafford.

At a news conference on Wednesday, Amorim acknowledged that he had not yet spoken to Rashford after the striker raised eyebrows in an interview with journalist Henry Winter by implying that it might be time for him to go on.

“I’ve not spoken to him yet,” Amorim said. “It was yesterday, and I gave the day off to the lads. He’s our player and he’s ready for the next game.”

When asked if Rashford remains part of his plans, Amorim was clear:

“Of course. He just needs to perform at the highest level, and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.”

Even though Rashford signed a new contract last year that keeps him with the team until 2028, his interview comes amid rumors regarding his future. Amorim thinks the forward can find motivation in the current lineup, despite his statements that he is “ready for a new challenge” raising doubts about his dedication to United.

“I think he’s right – we have here a new challenge,” Amorim said. “It’s a tough one. This is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I hope all my players are ready for this new challenge.”

Amorim stressed the significance of concentrating on the current task at hand, which is the Carabao Cup quarterfinal matchup with Tottenham, despite reports that Rashford may leave..

“My focus is to have all the players in the best shape they can be to prepare for each game,” Amorim stated. “We are talking about if, if, if. There is no if at this kind of club. It’s just Tottenham, and let’s focus on this game.”

It is obvious that Ruben Amorim is dedicated to helping Marcus Rashford at Manchester United regain his confidence and form. Even though Rashford’s remarks have sparked speculation about his future, Amorim is still focused on the here and now and making sure the forward is a major part of the team’s strategy. Amorim believes in Rashford; it is time he believed in himself.
