Oilers Score 4 Goals in 3rd Period to Beat Kings in Game 3

The Edmonton Oilers pulled off an incredible comeback in Game 3 of the Western Conference first-round playoff series, defeating the Los Angeles Kings 7–4 with four consecutive goals in the third period.

With this win, the Oilers’ hopes of making the playoffs are rekindled as the Kings’ series advantage is reduced to 2-1.

Game Overview

After the Kings surged in the second period, the Oilers trailed 4-3 going into the third. But Edmonton’s offensive surge in the last frame—goals from Connor McDavid, Connor Brown, Evander Kane, and Evan Bouchard—turned the tide dramatically in their favor.

This four-goal flurry demonstrated the Oilers’ offensive depth and tenacity.

Key Performances

Evan Bouchard: The defenseman netted two goals, including the game-winner during a power play that followed an unsuccessful Kings’ challenge for goaltender interference.

Connor McDavid: The Oilers’ captain contributed a goal and two assists, demonstrating his leadership and playmaking prowess.

Connor Brown: Brown added two goals, including an empty-netter that sealed the victory, highlighting his offensive contributions.

Turning Point

When the Kings contested Kane’s tying goal for goaltender interference, it was a crucial moment. Due to the failure of the challenge, Los Angeles was given a delay-of-game penalty.

Bouchard scored the game-winning goal as the Oilers took advantage of the subsequent power play, giving Edmonton the lead.

Kings’ Effort

Adrian Kempe, Kevin Fiala, Drew Doughty, and Trevor Moore all scored goals as the Kings showed off their offensive skill despite the defeat.

Despite making 29 saves, goaltender Darcy Kuemper was under constant pressure as the Oilers surged in the third period.
