Lewis Hamilton currently sits outside the top 10 on the official F1 power rankings leaderboard, despite holding seventh place in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
The 39-year-old Mercedes driver has faced a challenging season, marking his third consecutive year without title contention. He has managed only four podium finishes this season and secured just one point at the Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, finishing 10th. Hamilton hopes to revive his quest for a record-breaking eighth world title when he joins Ferrari at the end of the season.
The Aramco F1 power rankings are calculated by a panel of five judges who evaluate each driver’s performance after every race weekend. Drivers receive a score out of 10 based solely on their weekend performance, independent of their car’s capabilities. The scores are averaged to create a race score, which builds into an overall leaderboard throughout the season. Following the Sao Paulo race, an updated top-10 leaderboard was released, with Hamilton notably absent.

Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen ranks only second on the power rankings, despite leading the championship by 62 points and securing eight wins this season. Verstappen demonstrated his skill again in Brazil, where he navigated wet conditions effectively to win the race. Starting from P17 due to a grid penalty, Verstappen capitalized on a red flag to pit for fresh tires, eventually overtaking Esteban Ocon, who finished in second place.
