One of the biggest surprises in wrestling this year came at WWE’s Money in the Bank event when John Cena announced his retirement from in-ring action.
But instead of just one farewell match, Cena revealed that he’ll be on a full “John Cena Retirement Tour” throughout 2025.
Fans now know where it all begins. On Nov. 13, Cena appeared on WWE’s social media, holding a towel that read “The Last Time is Now.”
He confirmed that his final Royal Rumble match will take place on Feb. 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. “You’ll want to be there,” he teased.
Cena has a strong history with the Royal Rumble, winning it in 2008 and 2013, and fans can expect him to make a big impact in his last appearance.
John Cena’s wrestling journey started back in 1999 with Ultimate Pro Wrestling. By 2002, he was making waves in WWE with his famous “Doctor of Thuganomics” persona, quickly rising in popularity

Over his 24-year WWE career, he’s become a wrestling icon, with a record-breaking 13 WWE Championships, three World Heavyweight Championships, five U.S. titles, four tag team titles, and memorable Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank victories.
Now, at 47, Cena’s farewell tour promises to be one for the ages, starting with the Royal Rumble — a perfect way to kick off his last year in WWE.
