Joel Embiid, the center for the Philadelphia 76ers, has suffered yet another injury setback. The swelling in Embiid’s left knee occurred after he worked out on the floor on Thursday.
His absence from the forthcoming three-game road trip to Indiana, Milwaukee, and Denver has been announced by the team.
After missing six straight games due to a foot strain, Embiid had first appeared to be on the mend. His return to the court has been postponed, nevertheless, due to the unanticipated knee swelling.
According to the 76ers, Embiid will undergo treatment to reduce the swelling and be reassessed in seven to ten days.

Despite playing in just 13 games this season, Embiid has averaged 24.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He now has a career-low shooting percentage of 45.2%.
This season, the 76ers are 7-6 while Embiid is in the lineup and have a 15-24 record overall.
Embiid’s limited availability has made the team’s problems worse, underscoring the 76ers’ inability to remain consistent without their star center.
The club and supporters are hoping for a speedy and full recovery while Embiid receives additional treatment, with the goal of his return to improve the team’s performance in the second half of the season.
