FIFA The Best Awards 2024: Vinicius Junior and Aitana Bonmati Shine Bright

Some of the biggest stars in football won awards at the 2024 FIFA The Best Awards ceremony, which took place in Doha and honored the world’s best football players.

Vinicius Junior Wins FIFA The Best Men’s Player

After a fantastic season with Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior was named FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of the Year. With 24 goals and 9 assists in 39 games during the 2023–24 season, the 24-year-old Brazilian forward was instrumental in leading Real Madrid to La Liga and UEFA Champions League victory.

In the poll, Vinicius defeated Jude Bellingham, his Real Madrid teammate, and Rodri, the Ballon d’Or winner. Vinicius received 48 votes, while Bellingham and Rodri received 37 and 43 votes, respectively. This is an award he deserves with a 100% merit, congratulations to him. 

Aitana Bonmati Claims Back-to-Back Awards

Aitana Bonmati of Barcelona won FIFA’s Best Women’s Player of the Year award for the second time in a row. With 19 goals and 18 assists in 41 games, Bonmati had a tremendous season and helped Barcelona win both domestically and internationally.

  • Puskas Award: Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United) for his spectacular overhead goal against Everton.
  • Best Men’s Coach: Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid) for guiding the club to La Liga and Champions League triumphs.
  • Best Women’s Coach: Emma Hayes (USA Women’s Team) for her success with Chelsea and leading the USA to Olympic gold.
  • Best Men’s Goalkeeper: Emiliano Martinez (Argentina / Aston Villa).
  • Best Women’s Goalkeeper: Alyssa Naeher (USA / Chicago Red).
  • Marta Award: Marta Vieira da Silva (Brazil / Orlando Pride) for her contribution to women’s football.
  • FIFA Fair Play Award: Thiago Maia (SC Internacional).
  • FIFA Fan Award: Guilherme Gandra Moura.
