Tyler Booker, an offensive guard selected in the 2025 first round of the NFL Draft, has officially signed with the Dallas Cowboys, securing an important part of their offensive line for the 2025 campaign.
Booker, who was chosen 12th overall from the University of Alabama, is expected to be vital in strengthening the Cowboys’ offensive line.

A Promising Talent from Alabama
A 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman, Tyler Booker is from New Haven, Connecticut. Before moving to IMG Academy in Florida, where he became a four-star recruit, he started his high school football career at St. Luke’s School.
After committing to the University of Alabama, Booker spent three seasons there showcasing his abilities.
Booker was selected a First-Team All-American in 2024 and received consecutive first-team All-SEC honors in 2023 and 2024 while playing for the Crimson Tide.
Notably, he showed remarkable pass protection skills in his final college season, allowing zero sacks over 353 throwing snaps. Because of his performance, he was added to the 2024 Outland Trophy watch list, which honors the best interior lineman in the country.
Filling Big Shoes in Dallas
Booker was chosen by the Cowboys to fill the big hole created by veteran guard Zack Martin’s retirement. Booker, who is well-known for his strength and adaptability, should move into the right guard position with ease and provide the line with a combination of power and agility.
Booker’s commitment to protecting quarterback Dak Prescott was evident during the NFL Draft, where he pledged to keep Prescott “clean and well-protected every single game.”
His dedication to the game and aggressive playing style were further highlighted during the NFL Combine, where he stated, “I make guys not love football anymore,” emphasizing his relentless approach on the field.
Strategic Draft Moves by the Cowboys
Booker was part of the Cowboys’ 2025 NFL Draft strategy to strengthen their team. They added depth with players like running back Jaydon Blue and cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. and selected edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku in the second round.
But considering the lack of depth behind standout receiver CeeDee Lamb, the team came under fire for failing to address the wide receiver position. In order to strengthen the receiving corps, owner Jerry Jones pointed to possible moves or free-agent signings.

Looking Ahead
The Cowboys have strengthened their offensive line with the signing of Tyler Booker, hoping to improve their running game and provide Dak Prescott more protection.
All eyes will be on Booker as the club gets ready for the new season to see how his success in college transfers to the NFL and how he helps the Cowboys achieve their goal of becoming the best on the field.
