Chris Sale Wins NL Comeback Player of the Year

Chris Sale Wins NL Comeback Player of the Year After Stellar Season

Atlanta Braves pitcher Chris Sale has been named the 2024 National League Comeback Player of the Year.

In his first season with the Braves, Sale dominated the league, achieving a rare pitching triple crown by leading the NL in wins (18), ERA (2.38), and strikeouts (225).

His outstanding performance has already earned him a Gold Glove Award, and he’s the favorite to win his first Cy Young Award on November 20.

The Comeback Player of the Year award is given to players who overcome setbacks to shine again. After making just 31 starts over the past three seasons, Sale bounced back in a big way, becoming the best pitcher in the National League.

Sale is the fourth Braves player to win this honor since its introduction in 2005, joining Tim Hudson (2010), Jonny Venters (2018), and Josh Donaldson (2019). No other team has won the award more times.

With a Gold Glove and the Comeback Player of the Year title already secured, Chris Sale’s incredible year could soon include the Cy Young Award, cementing his place as one of baseball’s top stars.
