WWE Announces Legacy Inductees for 2025 Hall of Fame

The 2025 Hall of Fame class’s Legacy inductees, Ivan Koloff, Dory Funk Sr., and Kamala, have been formally revealed by WWE.

The induction ceremony for these wrestling fixtures is set for April 18, 2025, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, which will take place before WrestleMania 41.

Kamala: The Ugandan Giant

During the 1980s and 1990s, James Harris, better known as “The Ugandan Giant” Kamala, was a notable figure in the WWE. Kamala, known for his frightening demeanor, unique war paint, and unpredictable in-ring technique, competed against well-known fighters like The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan.

He gained admirers over time by displaying a softer side that brought out the tenderness hidden beneath his aggressive exterior.

Dory Funk Sr.: Wrestling Patriarch

In professional wrestling, Dory Funk Sr. played a crucial role as a promoter and performer. Through his Western States Sports organization, he had a major impact on the industry as the head of the well-known Funk wrestling family.

Funk Sr. made a lasting impression on the history of wrestling by being instrumental in the development and coaching of many wrestlers.

Ivan Koloff: The Russian Bear

Most notably, Ivan Koloff, often known as “The Russian Bear,” ended Bruno Sammartino’s seven-year reign as WWE Champion in Madison Square Garden on January 18, 1971.

Koloff’s reputation as one of WWE’s most powerful villains was cemented by this historic victory, which stunned the wrestling community.
